Shoedish decided that we no longer like our feet and since plastic surgery doesn’t seem to be an option for fixing our problem, we thought it may be wiser to get a foot transplant. You know, just chop off the bad and replace it with something good. We’ve yet to find a pair of feet that we like, however. You’d be surprised at how few people have cute feet. These were a pair that were recently suggested to us by our Doc. Thoughts? Were thinking they might actually worsen the problem. Maybe we should just get our lips plumped and call it a day.

This may be more appropriate for a holiday, like say, National Industrial Worker’s Day, but we’re inclined to post them today. Who wouldn’t want to wear an architecturally structured sculpture stiletto to ring in the holidays? It has a lot of things going for it, after all. It embodies what it means to be “metallic”, which is a super trend for New Year’s party footwear. It has a fierce stiletto heel that challenges that of even the super stilettos of 2009. And it’s a sexy party heel, depending on what your taste is in sexy and party. Heck, shoedish would wear it…er, attempt to wear it, if we could only get our greedy little hands on the sinister sculpture. Happy New Year’s Eve!!! Thoughts?

Yesterday, I was having lunch with my girlfriend, M, and she was telling me how she read the book, Skinny Bitch, over the weekend. An ironic aside, she happened to be in the San Diego Zoo, sitting in front of the monkey cage while reading it. It’s a long story. If you’re wondering where this is going, let’s just say that I respect all the many options people choose to nourish their bodies with, but even as a meat eater I believe in a line between sustenance and cruelty. So, when I stumbled across these shoes for todays Wacky Wednesday post, I almost cried. Well, I would have cried, had I not been so grossed out. Okay, so these might be crossing the line of wacky into purely awful. Ew! Even I’m squirming in my seat here. Who, in shoes name, would put these things on their feet. There is absolutely no excuse for it. I don’t know if they’re real or not, but it doesn’t really matter. They are really, really, really grossly disturbing. Thoughts? Let us discuss?

Possibly the only thing better than people and new shoes…it’s a bit long, but worth watching for a few seconds. So cute!!!

And we’re always complaining about how hard it is to walk in a peeked-toe. If you’ve ever warn flippers on land, than you know all about that awful duck or penguin waddle you get when sliding across the beach. Now, take that image and add a heel. We won’t pretend to get the irony behind these awfully wacky heels - a protest for global warming, perhaps - but we would like to mention that these do exist, for sale, and people have actually walked runways in and purchased them. Novelty obsession is the only explanation and yet, somehow, not an excuse. These flipper heels first graced the catwalks in 2002, when Australian footwear designer, Lisa Carney, had them on display in her Mercedes-Benz Fashion Show, but the story was repeated in 2007 when Jean Paul Gaultier sent them swimming down his own catwalk. How bizarre…wacky, tacky, and true!
*On a wholly separate note, shoedish stumbled across this really great blog today, while searching for a stockist for these High Tide Heels. While it has absolutely no relation to shoes, we wanted to share anyway. Visit seawayblog for more fun!
