And the designer shoes are…
The shoe on the right is the Steve Madden Warrick
while the shoe on the left is the Snick Natural Leather
from Jeffrey Campbell. Which would you prefer?

It’s been awhile since we posted a designer shoe challenge, so we though it was time for another battle of the shoes. Which shoe would your prefer? One of these trendy cloggers is from a coveted celebrity designer, while the other is a simple knockoff. Can you spy, with your little eye?

This season is the continuation of many trends from last season. Short boots, particularly ankle boots and booties, along with platforms and cutouts return to revive their role of trend star. We’ll also be seeing the OTK boot in all its glory (if you haven’t purchased the design yet, now is the time) and, of course, the wedge is still HOT! As far as new trends for fall, we’re super psyched about flannel, a material that is not only unique and flattering, but very seasonal appropriate. Feminine accents, like lace-embellished oxfords, as well as wedges, platforms, cutouts, and clog-bottomed footwear will accent styles across the board and possibly our most favorite new fall trend of all; military-inspired footwear. From casual desert boots to novelty service badge-adorned dress heels, the military look will be everywhere.

Clogs - Snick Natural Leather
from Jeffrey Campbell.

Flannel - Button Flannel Bootie from Christian Louboutin
Military-inspired - You can’t get much more military than these military badge platform sandals from Gianmarco Lorenzi.

Clog-bottomed footwear - Short clog-bottomed boot from Free People

Cutouts - Diego Dolcini Collage cut-out booties

OTK Boots - Hollywood Trading Company Stud Over The Knee Boots

This season it’s all about perforated, mesh, and decorative cut-out leather fabrics. Forget extreme cut-out booties and caged sandals for two minutes, so you can focus on this great new trend. We’re not saying that those trends are dead and gone, because they most certainly aren’t, but this new breed of cut-outs will have you feeling refreshed and revitalized, the way any good trend should make you feel. From standard-issue perforated lace-up spectators from Tory Burch to fashion forward caterpillar-bitten leather booties from Anthropologie, there’s a decorative cut-out for just about every style and taste. Here are just a few of our favorites from across the design board:

Mini-perforations makes these cute, sassy, and boyfriend chic oxfords from House of Harlow 1960 very, very trendworthy.

Tory Burch redeems herself with
Victor Navy Leather
stacked wedge lace-up booties in a uniformly perforated design.

Who knew pests could be so artistic? These Grazing Caterpillar Booties from Anthropologie prove that holes can be very fashion-friendly.

Old meets new with the Sam Edelman Women’s Sawyer Oxford
, which brings the classic oxford style to trendy new heights.

Mesh can mean a lot of things, but when it comes to these open-toe sandal booties from Rachel Roy
, we think ‘to fit together effectively’ is the best definition.

These military-inspired boots from Rachel Roy
make us just a tiny bit excited for fall and the introduction of all the great new fall boots we have in store for us. EEEEEEEeeeee! Not that we’re wishing our summer away or anything like that - we love sandals too - but we can’t help but look to our future when it comes to shoes and in this case it looks like a very bright future indeed. These ankle boot wedges are complete with a toggle-inspired front embellishment, complete with ornamental buttons and decorative lacing. The back-zipper makes for an easy entry and also adds a touch of quiet sexiness. Not available until September, make your orders now, and hold your breath! That’s what we’ll be doing. The ‘Roye’ ships no later than September 10th.
